San Bernardino Valley College’s associated student government has debuted “Blue” the Wolverine! Having gone several years without an official mascot outfit, student legislators undertook the task of designating an official wolverine mascot character. The wolverine mascot was unveiled at the SBVC Foundation’s inaugural Alumni & Friends Rally on November 9 in front of the SBVC Football Stadium. The local community, alumni, and current students came out to support the SBVC Wolverines as they played against the Victor Valley Rams. The event showcased the SBVC Veterans Resource Center, Associated Student Government, the Culinary Arts program, and various student clubs. Since the mascot still needed a name, student government launched a social media campaign, encouraging students to submit possible names. After a week of submissions and voting, “Blue” was chosen as the official name. Blue the Wolverine has already been spotted at various athletic matchups and campus events, and will certainly be a visible figure in the spring semester.
