More than 120 golfers enjoyed a beautiful day on the links during the San Bernardino Valley College Foundation’s ninth annual golf tournament on April 19. Held at the Arrowhead Country Club, the tournament raised more than $30,000 for SBVC athletic teams and student scholarships.
Throughout the day, tournament players participated in contests, including a longest drive competition, won by Peggy Cartwright and Robby Melton. After the tournament, players came together for dinner, opportunity drawings, an auction, and the awards ceremony. Mike Sola, Eric Swanson, Jim Reich, and Bob Reedy came in first place, while Jeff Grotewald, Kipp Gross, Jim Williamson, and Mitch Calloway came in second and David Alvarez, David Pidal, Ron Elder, and Mike Contrera finished in third. The tournament was sponsored by HMC, Follett, P2S, Rich and Sharyn Beemer, and Redlands Community Hospital.
