Local high school students fill the LA building during “The Wonderful World of STEAM.”

This March, SBVC’s STEM Program hosted “The Wonderful World of STEAM”, a free event for hundreds of high school students that provided hands-on training and workshops for careers in science, technology, arts, engineering, and mathematics. Various classrooms in the Physical Sciences Building held in-person workshops for 10–15 students at a time, while virtual sessions offered several lectures and remote demonstrations. Sessions included testing Ph scales, embalming and restoration, leadership in STEM, Gen Z and Clean Fuel, exploring ulcers, and financial literacy. Other career fields that were explained and explored included the path to becoming an EMT, nutritionist, crime scene investigator, and geologist.
