After hosting hybrid celebrations for the past three years, SBCCD’s Latino Faculty, Staff & Administrators’ Association held a festive in-person celebration for the 2023 San Bernardino Valley College and Crafton Hills College Latinx graduates on May 21. In partnership with SBVC Student Equity and SBVC Arts, Lectures & Diversity, LFSAA offered the campus community a truly memorable occasion to highlight graduate success, featuring baile folklórico performances and a live mariachi band.
Over 200 graduates from SBVC and CHC received their hand-sewn serape sashes at the event. President of LFSAA Ernest Guillen left attendees with a powerful message that resonated throughout the ceremony: “Remember who you are, remember who helped get you here, and always remember where you came from so that you can give that love and energy to those who come behind you.”
